full backup of Windows 10 to restore entire image

PV you can make a system image with Macrium reflect. But what I do is use Macrium Reflect to backup then use the Windows 7 backup as per Andre, to make a system image just in case I need it. Both on external hard drive.

How can i delete Unformatted Primary partition of 128MB?

    Original title: Unformatted Primary partition

I was going to use Macrium Reflect to create a mirror image of my SP3 hard drive when I noticed that there is a unformatted primary partition 128 MB that is showing. But if I r-click on This PC & go to manage...disk management it doesn't show up there.

Anyone have any idea how I can format this drive & use it as a storage drive for my ebooks or something like that?

(see images by clicking the link below of snapshots I took using snipping tool. Capture1=Macrium Reflect, Capture2=This PC manage disk management).

    OneDrive folder

    Thanks in advance...

CWG, after you posted, it looks like OP got the image embedded. OP, your image display looks very much like my MR image normally looks like. MR assigns a drive letter to such a mounted image, when done, unmounted, the assigned drive letter is back in the Windows pool. I think within the image, the normal drive letter is given.

Thanks for the reply...I am a little confused as I am new to this .....is the above image a clone that macrium software would theoretically restore both the Windows 10 OS and data files to a new hard drive?

If you made a backup image of a partition, then did a restore using that image, the target partition will be exactly what the source partition was. I hope I said that right, I'm being distracted by a long long Cyberlink install.

That is pefectly normal and looks good to me. An image is presented a drive letter F in your case as you have mounted it as a drive. Basically an image backup is very similar to an iso file.

It is essentially as you say - a clone image i.e. if you restore that image to another drive, second drive will be identical to first drive.

If you open image within Macrium rather than mounting it as a drive, you will not see individual files and folders but a graphical representation of partitions, and drive letters that will be associated upon a restore.

Go to the tutorial sectional and read the excellent tutorial how to use Macrium Reflect.

What do you mean by "mirror"? What option did you take?

is this what a macrium reflect mirror image looks like when opened [IMG]

If you took the "image" option (in red) then it creates an image file (saved where you specify) which if you mount it contains structure as you have shown.

If you took the option to clone (in green) it copies everything to the other disk and you would see the contents of the target disk the same as the source.

In either case it looks fine except (as @AddRAM said above) you probably want to run disk cleanup to tidy up a bit which will delete Windows.old - no point backing up old versions of Windows (probably).
