Windows 10: Is WMP included in Win10?

Windows Media Player, not Windows Media Center. Pretty sure it is but can someone confirm it is included and will it still play DVDs? Is the option still in auto play for WMP be the default player? And to associate it for a specific file type as the player? I know about VLC, etc. but I like WMP.

I use WMP in W10.when trying to include a new music CD in WMP which is similar but not exactly like another CD already included in the library the player erases the similar parts from the older CD.I am interested in including both versions in full in the
library,is this possible,if so how

No, but WP8 uses MTP for file transfer over USB which is supported first in that version of WMP.

Yep, WMP is still included in Windows 10, but the Groove Music app is the default now.

you can find it in start menu under all apps > windows accessories or ask/type in Cortana

 

Hmmm, still a bit confused. WMP is included and as in the link I posted it can be opened and even pinned. But now there is a new default app, Groove Music player. Can WMP be selected as default or can file extensions be associated with it? In other words how would one use WMP in place of Groove? I have to think since it is included it can be used.

 

Yep, you can make either one the default app.
