Your best bet would be Win 8.1 drivers, since most everything that's compatible with Win 8.1 is also compatible with Win 10.

  2. Nothing listed for my laptop on the ASUS site, not yet anyway. No real point checking my desktop motherboard's, they didn't even have Windows 8 drivers last time I checked. They are getting long in the tooth. *Wink

I have two ASRock Z77 motherboards. Neither has any Win10 support on the ASRock site. They do have Win 8.1 so I should be OK. The Get Windows 10 shows "This PC Meets system requirements". One of the ASRock Z77 boards is running the Win 10 Preview without any problems, so I don't think I'll have any problems with the RTM version.

I have a couple of older ASUS motherboards. I just go with the drivers Windows installs, and then hunt up drivers for what's not working. Neither one of mine even have Windows 8 drivers listed, just Windows 7 drivers. Ones an M4N68 something and the other is an M2N68 something. Old stuff. I think the only thing I had to hunt up was the VIA sound driver for the onboard sound on the M2N68. The onboard sound isn't detected at all, not even as an unknown device, so Windows doesn't even know its there and doesn't ever look for the driver. I have to install it manually. The only other driver I update is the one for my dedicated NVidia Video cards.

So far Gigabyte doesn't have support for Win10 for my new motherboard but the 8.1 seems to work.

  6. Usually, for a laptop, tablet or premade desktop PC, you'll only get support for that OS if the device ships with that OS from the factory. If you have something a couple of years old, don't hold your breath. Its even worse for motherboards. It could take a while, if ever for them to supply new drivers for a new OS on last years tech. What's selling now is going to get priority.

My M4N68 shows XP to 8.1. If I select 8.1 though all it shows is BIOS updates and manuals, no drivers. They are included in the stock Windows 8.1 install. Everything works so I guess that's true. My motherboard is very old by todays standards though. I don't expect they'll ever update anything for it on the ASUS site. My laptop works with all the stock drivers except the catalyst control center gives me issues. Hopefully that gets sorted out by AMD.

Yes, clean installation of build 10162 today, because I was having a few bugs with the latest 10240 build. Honestly, I do not think that they will get resolved (fixed) with this action but I am glad I did it because besides the latest INF and ME files/drivers I also installed the latest Intel AHCI driver and the latest LAN driver for my system - see My System Specs.

Now I'm waiting for 10240 to arrive via Win Update - I'm aware that it might take up to 24h, I've checked the Registry and I am on the appropriate branch. (TH1).

May I ask you an off-topic question? I see your monitor in your specs - I hope they are updated. You seem to have the same resolution as my HP monitor. Do you use 125% Zoom? And if so, when you open the Device Manager, for example, or the Task Scheduler, do you see blurry + weirdly bold text?

    Thank you.

Still new here and on all. Saying because actual Windows 10 not due till July 29 so just a preview version of some sorts, if i am correct. AHCI (controller) drivers have to be put in before installing OS from thumb drive, seen on screen during custom clean install.

We are off topic, but in all my installations (on the three Z97 motherboards I own) I have never installed the AHCI driver before the OS installation. On my OC Formula, for example, the SATA is already set to AHCI in the BIOS so there is a Microsoft driver installed by the OS. Even on Win 7. I then install the AHCI driver and just that, from the Device Manager - update driver. Never had any issue - ever. Performance was (is) also checked by AS SSD bench and others.

    Thank you.
