Windows 10: Issue trying to update windows from 1703 to 2004

I tried many times to update windows using Windows Update software from 1703 to 2004 version, but all of them failed and so, it rolled back to original version after download and install 2004 version.


I used troubleshooting feature at windows control panel to fix issues at windows update, and I also delete old files from software distribution/downlod folder.


I would like to know how can I update my windows, since windows keep me sending notifications all time that I do need to update my operational system.

If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.

That's my 2 cents anyways. *Smile

 

Windows update issues

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Aside from upgrading to 1703, have you made any changes prior to the issue?

We also suggest that you try to revert back to the previous update of the Creator's update for the meantime. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings window.
• Click Update and Security, Recovery.
• Select Get Started, under Go Back.
