Windows 10: Issue with user account but with no corruption present.

I am a technician and I sold a PC to a customer, and they took it home and were not happy with the changes from 7 => 8 And since windows 10 had come out i offered to upgrade them as we do in our store, i brought in the PC, ran our windows 10 installer as i always do then set up their Microsoft account for the windows store and added the features they wanted to make it like seven, solitaire and home pages and start menu items and such, and it was all going swimmingly, so i called them after quality checking the pc and they came to get it and i moved it from the bench to the pick up counter and that's when it fell apart.
The start menu wouldn't work, like when you click on it in the lower left hand corner nothing happens, cortana opens up, but start menu does not, then only the first three icons on the taskbar are shown, and the others are there but there is no icon, however when i move over them it shows the effect that there is something there and if i click they do open up very slowly. it is also very jumpy with any tasks i give it.
So i obviously couldn't release it, so i took it back to the work bench and sent them on there way but whenever i booted it wouldn't load there profile. Instead it would send me to a temporary profile where everything worked just fine. I could not for the life of me get into the main account, so i thought for sure there was OS corruption, however after running SFC twice and it showing nothing i finally ran our full diagnostic suite on the machine and found it all checked out with hardware.
After testing the hardware i tried to get back into the os however it kept telling me that there was an issue with startup and kept sending me to a screen that told me to restart. I got caught in this like a dozen times, until i finally gave in and restored it to a point it was at sunday night before some updates. But this was before the issue with start menu had shown up, however now, after they system restore it is having the same issue with the start menu. I have not had any other issues with the user account.

I was so fed up with the computer at this point I let another tech have a look at it via teamveiwer from our headquarters. and they ran a full virus removal and diagnostic and then through it back to me when it all checked out but the problem is still there. so i sent it back and they ran another sfc and then a dism. when both of those showed no issues they recommended a system restore. Which i had already done.

Then my manager mentioned rolling back to windows 8.1, so i did that and it had a fit with weird hanging windows and a blank screen with mouse pointer before finally settling down to still be slow and buggy.

I am at my wits end and have to find a solution for my customer, but it is so hard to find help for windows 10 as it is so new. any light you can shed on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hello again Andre,

Well I ended up having to remove the USB drive before the first restart. After than all went well and I was able to re-install all my applications and files. Only exception is Acronis 2017 which for some reason will not complete the installation. I sent
the associated MSI file to Acronis customer support and hopefully they will be able to provide me a fix (still undecided if the Acronis program is what I want). Anyhow, thanks again for your assistance, most appreciated.
