Windows 10: Issue with windows reset.

Hello,

I recently had an issue getting the hdmi on my dell latitude e6540 to display to a tv. A website said to uninstall and reinstall the display adapter driver, which I did. After that my computer would freeze constantly and I couldn’t get it fixed, so I decided reset it since I had no important files or apps that I wanted. It worked fine until the reset got to the installing windows phase with the blue backround when it would freeze. I let it run overnight to see if it would finish installing, it didn’t so I tried it again and once it froze the hard drive indicator led would stop blinking. When I reopen my computer it will restart the installation at 0 % and freeze immediately. When I try to use any of the troubleshoot things in recovery mode it says that I need to sign in to an admin accout but the aren’t any, I do not have one. I also can’t enable safe mode: it gives an error. The only thing I can do is reset again and it will repaet the process where it will do fine until somewhere in the installing phase then the screen will go black. And the hard drive indicator led will stop blinking. I need some help so I can use my computer for school.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Multiple Issues After Resetting Laptop

Hi,

I recently reset my laptop and since then I've been experiencing a whole host of issues:

• Windows search bar doesn't work
• Shop app won't open
• Won't allow me to change location settings
• Clock/calendar on my toolbar is unresponsive when I click on it

Any ideas what the problem might be, please? Advice / suggestions are very much appreciated!

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
