Windows 10: Issues after KB4556799 and KB4552931 updates

At first I noticed the windows search bar on my taskbar won't work. I can't even click on it to type and search, but I thought it was some sort of bug. Then I tried to take a printscreen using win+shift+S and my computer froze. Cursor was still responsive to movement, but I couldn't click anything or do anything but ctrl+alt+del, and the task manager woudn't open. I still hadn't made the connection, so I just restarted and tried again what I was doing, only to have it freeze the same when after the printscreen. Regular printscreen works just fine. When I realized these issues had started after the last update, I checked the update history to find 2 new updates KB4556799 and KB4552931 and uninstalled them. Only to have them automatically installed again every time, so I can't even confirm it's definitely from the updates. Ever since, I've noticed also the computer sometimes restarts by itself while I'm not using it during the night, for example. Not sure what happens then... That's as long as my tech knowledge goes, so I'd appreciate any help.

KB4556799 Not Installing :-/ ~ never mind!

booted the machine today and it came up w/ the blue "completing installing updates" thing, finished ok. after doing some work i checked for updates and it was downloading a few - i haven't used this machine in a while.
Updates showed KB890830 and KB4552931 as "Pending Install", KB4556799 got to 100%, and then nothing. i left it about ten mins, did a restart, same thing - it downloaded it all again and is now sitting at "downloading 100%". i fired up the Update Troubleshooter, it said it couldn't identify an issue.

EDIT - panic over, i left the machine on and it eventually - after a looong wait - finished doing its stuff.

Summary

A remote code execution vulnerability exists in .NET Framework software when the software fails to check the source markup of a file. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could run arbitrary code in the context of the current user. If the current user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker could take control of the affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights. Exploitation of the vulnerability requires that a user open a specially crafted file with an affected version of .NET Framework. In an email attack scenario, an attacker could exploit the vulnerability by sending the specially crafted file to the user and convincing the user to open the file. The security update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how .NET Framework checks the source markup of a file.

CVE-2020-0605

A denial of service vulnerability exists when .NET Framework improperly handles web requests. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could cause a denial of service against a .NET Framework web application. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without authentication. A remote unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by issuing specially crafted requests to the .NET Framework application. The update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how the .NET Framework web application handles web requests.
