Windows 10: Issues installing windowsdesktop-runtime-6.0.11-win-x64

Issues installing windowsdesktop-runtime-6.0.11-win-x64

 

I have the same problem. I did download and install KB5006192 & 4698

Guys I had the same issue and this is the solution for it.

Visit this website Microsoft Update Catalog

Then in the search menu search for both the updates .net 5.0.10 update for x64 client (kb5006192) & .net 5.0.8 update for x64 client (kb5004698). If you want to skip these steps and directly install the .exe just click on the links below. I downloaded/compiled and zipped all the .exe files into a single zipped file for your ease.

It will give you the results click on the 5.0.10 update for x64 client & 5.0.8 update for x64 client links respectively a menu will open up with 10 links each in the popup download all of them a total of 20 .exe files from there and one by one install each .exe file

A few will install while a few will fail letting you know that it is already installed or a newer version is already installed, so ignore those. After installing all of them one by one. You can again try the Windows Update and this time around the error would completely go away & it will show that your windows 10 is up to date.

Error: ucrtbase.terminate not located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

Open elevated cmd.
Type the following command: regsvr32 /u api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.
Type the following command: regsvr32 /i api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.
Close cmd. Shut down. Restart.

That being said, I also did a registry cleaning, and it also had a pending update that went through that was apparently awaiting a full shut down. It might very well have just been that.

Microsoft can nudge all they want, I'm keeping this older model laptop on 7, it's not powerful enough for the bloat of 10. I was very near to running a sfc scan (I was going to make that my last thing to set it to do before retiring to bed for the night) and then putting the windows disc in and repairing the install like you suggested tomorrow if the sfc repair didn't work.
