Windows 10: Issues with Bitlocker following first restart after encryption

Hi There,We seem to be having an issue with Bitlocker encrypting devices on restart following successful deployment of Bitlocker to the devices C drive.These devices are varying versions of Windows 10, and all of the devices previously had Mcafee Drive Encryption enabled prior to the deployment of BitLocker. Once Mcafee is removed and Bitlocker is installed and encrypted the device is then locked out following the first restart of the device, any other restart after this instance has no issuesIs there anything we can check before encrypting with Bitlocker which would prevent this issue upon re

I suggest you to perform below mentioned steps to disable BitLocker.

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Change View by from Category
  to Large Icons/Small Icons.
  
• 
  Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
  Turn BitLocker Off.
  
• 
  Follow on screen instructions. Click on Decrypt the Drive
  when the message appears.

Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

• You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
• The drive must be BitLocker-protected.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

• Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
• Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
• A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.

This issue could be because of the drive letter being assigned automatically when the encrypted USB drive is plugged in.



You may want to try the steps listed below and see if it works for you.

• Plug in a flash drive without any encryption, format it completely.
  
• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Disk Management.
  
• In the Disk Management console, right click the volume with the USB drive letter and select
  Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  
• Click on Change, choose E, and click
  OK.
  
• Restart the machine, plug in the encrypted USB drive
  and see if the issue persists.
