Issues with built in Administrator Account Windows 10 Pro 64bit

    Hello everyone!

I have been using Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit before, always with the built in Admin account. I have tried out Windows 10 awhile back with a clean install just to get used to it, and already noticed the issue that enabling the built in admin account would result in some errors.

    1. After enabling it in Win 10, UAC would still be activated.
    2. Metro Apps wouldnt function anymore
    3. The search windows tool would randomly stop working
    4. Access to to other internal hdd partitions is slower compared to a newly created local user account with admin rights.

I have been able to fix 1 and 2. I can fix 3 by reindexing, pausing the service and restarting it. 4 I havent been able to find a solution.

Well of course I could just let it be. Disable the the built in admin, and just use my own account with admin rights. I dont want to settle without understanding why it has become such a problem though.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Pro login screen does not show the Administrator or Guest account

    Denis,

I am trying to have the "built in Administrator Account " and the "Guest Account" appear on the WIN 10 login screen along with my User account (which has administrator status). Both the "built in Administrator Account " and the "Guest Account" are password
protected, as well as my user account. I have used this configuration, with no problems in WIN 7 PRO, before upgrading to WIN 10 PRO.

You make the interesting comment " Admin-level accounts you create yourself have more capabilities than the Built-In Admin". It is my understanding the opposite is true, at least in WIN 7 PRO. Has there been a change in WIN 10? If that is true, I would
be interested in knowing how to configuring a user level WIN 10 account with administrator capabilities equal to or greater than the Built in Administrator account; which would take the place/replace of the Built in Administrator.

Same applies to your comment " Standard user accounts you create yourself can be configured to suit you [and can be categorised as Guest accounts if you wish].

As a side question, if user accounts can be configured to have more capabilities than the Built in Administrator and Guest Account, why did Microsoft leave the two accounts as an option?

    Thanks for your support.

  3. What does Errpr Code 80070004 mean for a Windows 10 upgrade failure?

    Abdul,

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I have tried to upgrade a number of times to Windows 10 Pro 64bit but each has failed. This machine has only one user and the account is an administrator account. At this point the upgrade file has been downloaded at least
8 times, this needs to stop. According to Windows Update every time the upgrade failed it produced an error 80070004.

What steps can I try to fix this 80070004 error code?
