Windows 10: Issues with default "Documents" Folder

Hello,


I'm at my wits end and am really hoping someone here can help!


Windows appears to think my Pictures folder is my Documents folder.


In the "This PC" shell, "Documents" no longer appears. Rather, I am seeing "Pictures" twice (picture below). Both instances of "Pictures" point to the same location on my hard drive: "C:\Users\[myname]\OneDrive\Pictures" (which is where I keep pictures). Based on the icon below, it looks like the first instance of "Pictures" should be "Documents".


A variety of Windows programs think that this first Pictures folder is the Documents folder and save documents to it.


I've tried editing the "Personal" entry at "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" but that doesn't fix the problem.





Any help would be appreciated!!!

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

I suggest you follow these steps and check the location where documents folder is saved to.

a. Right-click on the document folder.

b. Click on Properties.

c. Under General Tab check the location.

this does not solved the problem. Access denied still
