Windows 10: Issues with Win10 Media Creation Tool

I want to install Win10 on a USB, simples BUT will the MCT let me do this NO! It's trying to reinstall it on my PC even though I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions here.

Anyone know how I can download Win10 without having to go through the MCT so I can have a fresh clean install?

Same thing happens to me on two computers. The programs runs, downloads two folders to my C: drive called

$Windows.-BT and $Windows.-WS. The BT folder has a sub-folder called "NewOS" but is empty, the WS has another "Sources" folder and then a "Windows" folder that appears to have the installation files. The program ends and leaves you wondering what to do next.

My dad and brother didn't have a problem(except for the graphics card in my brother's computer) when they did it, which is really annoying because I tried not long after.

 

You don't need a key for Windows 10 it's recorded at ms and will recognize your PC and your login

Windows 10 ISO Download

Then either burn the image from the ISO file to a DVD (and you might have to use a double layer DVD depending on how you get the ISO file)

Or

USB Flash Drive - Create to Install Windows 10

Once you start the Windows 10 setup, if it asks you for a product key, click on the link that says "I don't have a product key".

 

Okay will try again.

 

The posted image suggests to me the process needs to back a step or two.

 

Got it working in the end, not sure what happened but now have bootable usb with Win10 on it.

For a really versatile bootable USB flash drive, see my quote in the middle of the OP to this thread:
Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk

In the Sources folder of your Windows 10 USB flash drive will be a boot.wim file. Replace that file with the boot.wim file from Kyhi's recovery tools and you have a great tool to do backups, restores, and troubleshooting with in addition to retaining the ability to install Windows 10 from it.
