Windows 10: Item on Desktop won't delete

Discus and support Item on Desktop won't delete in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I have an item on my Desktop. It used to have the image of a folder over the last few days, but just now I looked at it and it looks like a document...     Item on Desktop won't delete


    I have an item on my Desktop. It used to have the image of a folder over the last few days, but just now I looked at it and it looks like a document page? In any case, I'm not able to delete it via any means that I know of. I searched here last night and found a few similar problems. I tried some of those solutions but none of them worked. I have images attached. This is my desktop, showing the file on the desktop under the Recycle Bin.

    If I right-click, I see this menu, that doesn't have the delete option.

    If I select "Properties", I see this.

    If I try to drag to the Recyle Bin, it appears it's going to do it, but when I release the mouse button, it just stays exactly like the first image.

    Lastly, when I look into File Explorer, I see it all the way to the bottom of the list on the far left side it's highlighted at the bottom, but I can't do anything with it. There are no changes when I try to drag and drop to another folder, and I can't select it and delete it.

    I did have the File Shredder program installed, but that folder/file wasn't there until I deleted it. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this thing? Thanks in advance.

    You´re right. That´s crazy by the way, why won´t it show calendar items in "contacts" mode?



    Some things aren´t really logical with this phone....

    Item on Desktop won't delete

    windows 10 deleted my desktop files

    Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

    Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

    copied all files again to desktop.

    Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

    Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

    • Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
    • Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
    • Click on Users, select your User name
    • Go to desktop folder
    Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
