Windows 10: Japanese License Key to English media device installation?

Hello,
I'm in Tokyo Japan and I built a computer. I had no other choice but to buy a

Japanese version of a Windows Home installation USB. I couldn't clearly understand

the installation process since I was relying on google to translate the characters. I was

able to install and run Windows but there are settings that I want to change but can only

be set during the installation process. I want to reinstall my OS again using an English

media creation tool downloaded from Microsoft so I could set everything the way I really

want it.


My question is, will the activation code from my Japanese installer work on this

English OS that is downloaded from Microsoft?

Yes, I do mean those keys. I tried just switching to Japanese keyboard, as you suggested, but those keys didn't work. Also, the selection key is normally the spacebar in Japan but I could only get IME to work with the Tab key (for those who aren't familiar with Japanese typing: you type in Roman characters, then press a selection key and it steps you through a list of options for the word you are typing in Japanese characters). Did you get the special keys to work as they do in native Japanese mode?

It may well be that I was missing something, although I did try every option I could think of. In any event, as I said, I gave in and now have Japanese Windows running with English menus and everything seems to be working perfectly.

I have just reinstalled my PC with Japanese Windows (it's the only way to enable the full use of a Japanese keyboard - special keys etc.). However, I want my system language to be English (menus etc.). So far I have tried the following:

Settings:
Installed English language pack
Made English default language

Power menu (not sure of proper name - win_key-x):
Tried to switch language to English but does not appear in the menu.

Suggestions greatly appreciated!

If by special keys you mean those additional keys on Japanese keyboard near space-bar and in place of "~" key below ESC. That is not true at all you can change keyboard to Japanese layout (and I don't mean just MS IME input on US layout) on English Windows install.
I have done it many times.
