Windows 10: July 3rd update reverted my computer back to 2015

My Computer worked fine on July 2nd. On July 3rd at 1 am Windows dis an update. My computer is now hosed. It reverted back to around 2015. All settings were as they were then. Programs since removed are back and newer programs do not exist. User data all gone. 3+ years of photos are all gone.


i tries to do a system restore, but the only restore point is the 1 am update and it will not restore that. It fails.


It was suggested that i reboot the 4-6 times and i have done that to no avail. Window has updates to do and every time i reboot or shut off the computer it has to run the update which installs, reboots and gets to 100% very slowly and then says it couldn’t complete the updates and then undoes what it did. It takes more then 1/2 hour to run through this process.


I do not have a restore disk as this was the free Win 10 upgrade from Windows 7. Nor do i have licensing information.


Help me please.

Windows 10 not updating after 3rd Oct 2015

I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8.1. Now after 3rd Oct 2015 all the updates are failing and it is not updating. any suggestions please ?

 

Windows 10 July 2015 vs. November 2015 Updates?

I have Windows 10 Home. Should I expect to get updates off of the July 2015 release, or will the November 2015 update superceed the builds for the July 2015 release? This is a brand new fresh PC from Dell with Windows 10 pre-installed on it, purchased
October of 2015.

Hello Meg,

it will tell you it was they last update on the computer. It should be the first recover option on the list, I only had one option to select.

Although my backup date was July 17, 2017.

Yours may be similar?
