Windows 10: July and August 2020 cumulative quality update issue

Dear All,

I have tried to carry out auto update from 19041.264 2004. The update of July and August 2020 is taking almost two days with dotted lines in all desktop's.

Is there any issue with quality update of July and august 2020??

Even after 2 days the same doesn't updates the pc gets shutdown after sometime??

Install fails for July 2020 and August 2020 cumulative updates for 1909 x64

I recently updated in June to version 1909 of Windows 10 on my 2018 Dell Inspirion 7373 laptop. I've noticed in Windows Update history that both the July 2020 and August 2020 cumulative updates have failed after multiple install attempts. The installation
gets to 100% and then I get a message that it failed and that it'll try again later. I've tried restarting Windows Update, clearing the distribution folder, downloaded and tried to update manually, etc. and the issue persists. I've search online to see if
anyone else is having the same issue and have found several people getting the same error code (0x800f0986) with the same version of Windows 10 (1909) and the issue seemed to start after updating to Windows 10 version 1909. Is this issue being looked into?
Troubleshooting Windows Update finds no issues and I really don't want to mess around with my computer any further since it seems to be a problem on Microsoft's end and I have college classes starting up in less than 2 weeks with it mostly being online coursework
and can't risk making my computer unusable by tinkering with it. I'm not having any other issues with Windows or the computer so it's really just me feeling uneasy because I've missed two cumulative updates now and I know security upgrades are within those
updates. The .Net Framework and servicing stack updates always download and install without issue, it's just the cumulative updates that download, install to 100%, then fail with an error code 0x800f0986.

Another unusual thing I noticed is sometimes when I look at Windows Update it has the green checkmark and says I'm all up to date even though in it's update history it says the cumulative update failed. Manually searching for updates brings up the uninstalled
cumulative update again only for it to fail again.

.NET Framework July 2017 Cumulative Quality Update for Windows 10

Today, we are releasing a new Cumulative Quality Update for the .NET Framework. It is specific to Windows 10 build 1703 (Creators Update).

Previously released security and quality updates are included in this release, including the July 2017 Security and Quality Rollup, the July 2017 Preview of Quality Rollup and the June 2017 Cumulative Quality Update for Windows 10.

Note: This release is considered a July release even though it is being released in August.

Quality and Reliability

The following improvements are included in this release. Most changes are for the .NET Framework 4.7. .NET Framework 3.5 changes are called out specifically.

ASP.NET

.NET Session State throttles change requests when several requests for the same session object arrive on the server, with .NET Framework 3.5 [447143].

CLR

CRWLock::StaticAcquireWriterLock() never returns if Int32.MaxValue number of ReaderWriterLock objects are created, with .NET Framework 3.5 [242568].

Dynamic method compilation may fail due to out of memory if memory for the code is not available near its precode [394998].

Memory leak in AppDomain::m_clsidHashMap [431586].

EETypeHashTable lookups can deadlock with GC during comparison with unrestored persisted TypeHandles [435006]

Data

SqlConnection object memory leak [444016].

System.Data.SqlClient: Errors due to undersized prelogin packet data buffer [445492].

Performance improvements in Entity Framework [445511].

Management

Reboot method of Win32_OperatingSystem has Privilege not held exception, with .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7 [441904].

Windows forms

MdiWindowListItem remove MDI from list after closing cancellation [396476].

Excessive object creation in a performance-critical code-path leading to performance regressions and/or displaying empty UI and/or exhausting GDI+ handles [452048].

Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)

NullReferenceException thrown from PresentationFramework.dll during SpellCheck operations after SpellCheck.CustomDictionaries.Clear() is called programmatically [432174].

XML

Incorrect Validation logic is applied when handling the <xsd:whiteSpace value=”collapse”/> directive in System.Xml [227903, 440921, 440932]

The July 2017 Cumulative Quality Update is available via Windows Update, Windows Server Update Services and Microsoft Update Catalog.

Cumulative updates - July 14th 2020

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Windows 10 Pro and a HP Officejet Pro 8620. The July updates caused my computer to stop communicating with my printer. Please advise. I have done troubleshooting, uninstalling...now I cannot reinstall the printer because they
won't communicate with each other...both USB and Wireless. I can print things from my phone so there is nothing wrong with my printer.

This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on July 14th for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

(SSU) makes sure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.

Known Issues

Known issues with KB4565503(2004): When using some apps, such as Microsoft Excel, users of the Microsoft Input Method Editor (IME) for Chinese and Japanese might receive an error, or the app might stop responding or close when attempting to
drag using the mouse.For more information and workaround steps, please see
KB4564002.

Known issues with KB4565483 (1903/1909): After installing this update on a Windows 10 device with a wireless wide area network (WWAN) LTE modem, reaching the internet might not be possible. However, the Network Connectivity Status Indicator
(NCSI) in the notification area might still indicate that you are connected to the internet.
We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

Known issues with KB4558998(1809): After installing KB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive the error, "0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND."Uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs.
