Windows 10: Jump List Problem

I can move/sort pinned jump list items for File Explorer, Acrobat, Photoshop, etc. but not for MS Office Word and Excel. Oddly, I can sort items in PowerPoint. Haven't tried any other MS Office programs, though. Any notions. The usual fair of support doesn't address the specific issue I'm having and suggested registry edits don't help.

cannot turn off jump list

Hi Rohit,

To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to turn off the Jump Lists on Windows 10:

• Go to Start menu, search Settings, then press
  Enter.
• Click Personalization.
• Select Start.
• Turn off the Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or taskbar.

Microsoft Office Taskbar Jump Lists

For us to better assist you with the taskbar Jump Lists issue, we'd like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made to the computer prior to this issue (e.g. Windows updates)?
  
• Does the issue also occur on other pinned apps/files?
  

In the meantime, we suggest to turn off/on Jump Lists in Settings. To do so, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + i to open Settings, then select
  Personalization.
• In the left pane, click Start.
  
• Turn Off then turn On Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on the Start or the taskbar.

Jump list still failing. help!


Ok, so I've added the suggested registry entries with no problem on several computers, but I have one that just refuses to cooperate. I've added/increased all 3 recommended entries, followed the cmd directions to reset AutomaticDestinations and CustomDestination, rebuilt the quick access list, and restarted multiple times to no effect. here's the reg:

Notice that it's still only showing 12 items, despite my changed registry and there being 14 items available to be shown. If anyone has any ideas, I would really be grateful. This is totally frustrating.
