Windows 10: Jump lists not working and error in Event Viewer: "Unable to start a DCOM server:...

Hi, after installing some programs, jumplists don't work anymore. When I click an element in a jumplist this "error" appears:




And in Event Viewer, in Windows Logs->System, this error appears:

Unable to start a DCOM server: {C82192EE-6CB5-4BC0-9EF0-FB818773790A}. Error: "%%2147943140"

an error occured when starting the command:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,SHCreateLocalServerRunDll {c82192ee-6cb5-4bc0-9ef0-fb818773790a} -Embedding

I tried to run the command manually and the jumplists start working again but after restarting the computer they stop working

Start Menu/Search/Action Center not working. Unable to load DCOM Server (Event ID: 10001)

Hello guys!

I got an issue that I used a registry cleaner then the News store app stopped working so I used the get-appx Powershell command to try to fix it then start menu (ShellExperienceHost & Cortana) stopped working.

What I tried so far

• In-place upgrade didn't fix the issue
• sfc /scannow didn't find any corruption
• DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth No corruption detected
• DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Command runned but didn't fix anything
• Uninstalled Anti-Virus
• Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”} Didn't work
• Created new user profile

Now I got these errors in Event Viewer for the apps:

• Unable to start a DCOM Server: Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_1.12.2.18334_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy!CortanaUI as Unavailable/Unavailable. The error:"2147958031"Happened while starting this command:"C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy\SearchUI.exe"
  -ServerName:CortanaUI.AppXa50dqqa5gqv4a428c9y1jjw7m3btvepj.mca

• Unable to start a DCOM Server: Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost_10.0.18334.1_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy!App as Unavailable/Unavailable. The error:"2147958031"Happened while starting this command:"C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy\StartMenuExpe
  rienceHost.exe" -ServerName:App.AppXywbrabmsek0gm3tkwpr5kwzbs55tkqay.mca (Event ID: 10001)

Please tell me of any possible solutions other than clean install because I want clean install to be my last resort as I have a lot of apps/programs installed in the system!

CORTANA error in Event Viewer

If CORTANA isn't available in my Region (PH).

Then why is it i'm having error showing in the event viewer?

* Event Id 5973 - Activation of App Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy!CortanaUI failed with error.

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

* Event Id 10001 - Unable to start DCOM Server: CortanaUI.AppXy7vb4pc2dr3kc93kfc509b1d0arkfb2x.mca

(DistributedCOM) As Unavailable/Unavailable. The error: "31"

Happened while starting the command:

"C:\Windows\system32\BackgroundTaskHost.exeServerName:CortanaUI.AppXy7vb4pc2dr3kc93kfc509b1d0arkfb2x.mca"

* Event Id 10010 - The server CortanaUI.AppXtpp90jhw9p0njjb85kvhxpppgrqfp117.mca did not register with DCOM

within the required timeout.
