Windows 10: Just found out passwords are saved in my Microsoft Account!

Hello,I just did a factory restore on my Windows 11 laptop, and for the first time I am see messages stating that I don't have to put my password in for my newspaper or supermarket website because Microsoft has saved them. I do NOT, under any circumstances, want Microsoft to save my passwords, and I don't even understand how they did so since the email I use for these websites is not my Microsoft email.I find it distressing that Microsoft took it upon themselves to do so without first asking if I agreed to their new protocol.How do I stop Microsoft from saving my email?Can anyone help?Thanks,D

You need to know your original password to get access to changing your password:

To change your Microsoft account password

• Sign in to your Microsoft account,
  and then select Security & privacy.
• Select Change password.
• Enter your current password, then the new password you want, then enter the new password again.
• Select Save.

Are passwords in Edge saved in Microsoft Account?

So I've setup my Windows 10 machine so that I login with my Microsoft account.

I was wondering, are passwords in Edge saved locally in the machine, or to my Microsoft Account?

The latter would be so convenient, like how Chrome passwords are saved in my Google account.

 

Cannot access my User Account on local machine but can access Admin account. Need help finding password but NOT reset it as it will delete saved data.

If you reset the local account password it will not delete the Saved data.

I suggest you to back up the saved data and files from the admin account and try to reset the password and check if it helps.

Follow the steps below to reset the password.

  Press Windows + R.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz and press enter.

  Select the user account.
  
• 
  Click on Reset Password.
