Windows 10: Just recorded videos lost after closing camera app

I need some help because I'm freaking out right now. I have recorded a video with my Surface. I went to check it out, clicked the gallery icon from the camera app, hit share and shared to my own email. I waited for it to send and I closed the camera app. Upon opening the email from my phone, I find that no video has been attached. Common error, I guess I didn't wait long enough. I open the camera app again and hit the gallery button, only this time there is nothing there. "You haven't captured anything recently. Open the Photos app to see all your photos and videos.". I open the Photos app and the video is simply not there.

I checked the settings and videos and photos are supposed to be saved under C:/ but nothing anywhere, no sign of the videos. I need to send this video in half an hour and I don't have time to record it again, it took me two hours to get it right. Anyone please help me, I don't know what happened or where to look for this video. Thanks a lot in advanced.

Lumia camera app no longer records video

From the photo mode, I can switch over to the video mode. However, when I click on the shutter button or the video camera icon on the screen, the app does not record. The time code does not start running. The video works just fine on Microsoft Camera
app, so it must be the Lumia Camera app.

I think this started happening either after Lumia Cyan update or Windows Phone 8.1 update about 3 weeks ago.

I have done:

* Reset (volume down and power reboot)

* Delete Lumia Camera app and reinstall

Any suggestions besides factory reset? I would really like to avoid factory reset.

The phone only uses the built-in mic when recording videos on the Camera app. If you want to use an external mic when recording videos, it is best that you send this suggestion through Feedback Hub so our developers can work on it. To send a feedback on
your phone, you can follow the steps below:

1. Go to All apps, search for the Feedback
   Hub app.
2. Open the Menu icon at the top left side.
3. Select Feedback, then tap the Add button
   (+) at the top right side.

Windows Camera app not recording sound

I have been trying to record video using the Windows Camera app (Windows version 1909), but no sound gets recorded. The default audio input device is the microphone in my webcam, and the audio preferences for Camera are set to default. I was able to use the same setup yesterday to have a Skype conversation with audio capture. I have tried replaying the video recorded in the Camera app in VLC, but there is no sound there either, so the problem is definitely with recording rather than playback. Why doesn't the Camera app record sound?
