Windows 10: "K" key no long works normally on any keyboard

I've run across an odd issue that I've been ignoring for quite some time, but I thought I should see if anyone else had run a crossed it before. For some odd reason, the k key on my PC has refused to work. It's not my keyboard, as I've tried several including the on-screen keyboard. All produce the same results. Now I'm forced to copy-paste k's in when necessary. However, when I press shift + k, it produces a "K" as normal. This meant I could work around the issue by creating a macro which uses caps lock and shift + k to make the key act as normal while typing. Anyway, this has gotten rather annoying as of late, and I felt it would be best to get to the bottom of this. To the best of my knowledge, all my drivers are up to date and if any more information is required, I'll respond as quickly as possible. If anyone knows what might be going on, I'd appreciate the help!

Keyboard Volume Keys not working while in-game

I happen to have used the Tt Challenger Pro keyboard in the past, and the volume keys worked flawlessly in every game, so it's indeed a weird problem. I would suggest the same thing sneekypeet suggested, using the keyboard software and assign this function to a hotkey, but you said that didn't work either, so yeah...

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)

  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

Stubborn keyboard keys

The on screen keyboard worked flawlessly. Thanks for the suggestion. Now I know for sure it is a mechanical issue with the keyboard. Anyone know if replacing a keyboard on an Asus laptop is even feasible? Or will it be too costly?
