Windows 10: KB2267602 (Definition 1.231.870.0) - Windows Update Error 0x80070643

When Windows Defender Real Time Protection is Enabled, and I go to Windows Update it tries to update the definitions, gets to 66% and it stalls and then I get this error message KB2267602 (Definition 1.231.870.0) - Error 0x80070643.
If I disable Real-Time Protection in Windows Defender, then check for Windows Updates, it says Your Device is Up to date?
What I have tried: I manually updated the Windows Defender Definitions in the app. I downloaded the latest definitions from Microsoft web page: Get the latest definitions - Microsoft Malware Protection Center. I deleted all the files in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download. I ran SFC /scannow.
I ran DISM /Online /CLEANUP-IMAGE /Check Health. There were no violations.
Computer works well and II still get other updates, but this keeps failing? got me perplexed.

I ran into this problem last week and spent the better part of the day trying to find a fix. The fix for me was found here:

I ran the two commands in the post above after I ran sfc /scannow. I hope this helps you. It seems this has been an on-going issue with Windows Defender and the fix seems to vary from user to user. Strange that this has started to appear again in the past few weeks.
