    Pls bear with me. After 5 weeks of attempting to fix "Couldn't Complete Updates Undoing Changes..." (win10 Pro, ver 1803, build 17134.165), including 8 hours with 3 different MS support staff, I come to this blog to see if a Win Repair in-place Upgrade would help. There were no interim error messages on any system check (e.g., troubleshoot, etc.,). If I have to reload all apps and personal files I prefer to buy a new PC as the one giving me trouble is 5 years old (though still "competitive" and a lot cheaper than a new one). I tried dozens of suggestions (several times) including Reset_Rereg.. from this website. So my question is: will a benign Win in-place Upgrade help? For the time being I want to stay with ver 1803. Thanks.

    Hi TfB. Welcome to the TenForums @TfB

    I don't think anyone will say absolutely, 100% this will fix. That said the inplace repair solves all kinds of issues and I recommend it a lot. It is easy, non-destructive process. I do always recommend you take a complete backup of personal data.

    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    To help in the process please remove all third party AV's and disconnect all devices not required for basics use.

    The media creation tool is still on 1803. Just watch the date at top of page. Who know when 1809 will be released.

    Windows Updates failed to instal

    I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

    I am trying Eagle 51's suggestions now. Windows Update troubleshooter found a bunch of errors and fixed all but one.The update is trying to download KB4025339 again. I'll see what happens. At step one troubleshooter finishes with one error unresolved "Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected-Not Fixed". Windows update stalled at 0%.

    At step 2 same troubleshooter error. The KB finished a new download failed to install.
    Did step 3 KB has downloaded but fails to install.

    If Eagle's suggestion doesn't work I'll try EdTittel's suggestion

    Tried bothe Eagle & Ed 's suggestions - do not work. Anyone else?

    I have noticed that the latest update for my nvidia drivers has failed to update. Wondering about that!
