Windows 10: KB4471324 Kills Edge Browser

Windows 10 Pro 1803 17134.441


Every time KB4471324 installs, my Edge browser no longer works. I attempt to bring it up, it sits there and does nothing - then eventually goes away. I've tried and tried to figure out something but I cannot see what else might be causing it. I can uninstall KB4471324 and reboot and it immediately works. Then in the next day or two, it automatically installs again and has the same effect on my computer. When I uninstall again, my browser works. Any ideas?

  Open task manager right click on Microsoft Edge and go to details click on microsoftedgeCP.exe and click end task

Have you tried resetting your browser? If not, we suggest you to do so. To reset Edge, follow these steps:

• 
  Go to
  Browser Settings.
  
• 
  Clear
  Browser Data.
  
• 
  Close the browser and launch it again.
  

If the issue persist, follow these other steps:

• 
  Go to
  Task Manager.
  
• 
  Click on
  MicrosoftedgeCP.exe
  
• 
  End the task.

Method 1:

I suggest you to clear the cache and cookies from Microsoft Edge and check. Follow the steps provided below:

• 
  Open Microsoft Edge.
  
• 
  Go to Settings.
  
• 
  Under Clear browsing data, click on Choose what to clear.
  
• 
  Select the options and click on Clear button.
  

I suggest you to reset Internet Explorer on your computer and check. Resetting Internet Explorer shall effect the behavior of Microsoft Edge browser.
