Windows 10: KB4505903 update causing my computer to NOT sleep

Immediately upon rebooting from the installation of this update my computer will not sleep more than 10-20 seconds and immediately goes back to full power.


Removing the update makes it sleep PERFECTLY. Does anyone know how to fix this? Are there undocumented setting changes one has to make to reenable the proper sleep ability? I don't use Bluetooth or any oddball accessories. Wifi is disabled and I use only ethernet at gigabit speed.

Latest Windows 10 update KB4505903 crashes my computer

Ryzen 3600

When It automatically updated to KB4505903 it would go to sleep and go into shutdown instead or it crashed causing a reboot. It wound run xmp or any frequency higher than 2066 when before it would run at 3200. Also it wouldn't run at base frequency or boost
it was running 2.4 to 3.0ghz using benchmarking software almost like half the cpu was being used, interestely enough it got half the scores it normally would have in single and multi core test. I disabled updates and uninstalled KB4505903 and all the problems
vanished. The new windows cumulative update isnt what I would call this a epic screw up.

I have the same problem but with other error: KB4505903 will not install. It downloads but then it gives a 0x800f0982 error. Same short stall at 73-74%. Also did try a manual install but that fails to: no error just the mention that it is not installed.

Did some searching and see more mentions of KB4505903 failing. See for example Windows 10 desktop stops responding after KB4505903 install but also mentions on Reddit
and so on.

Does disabling the HID-Complaint Touch Screen driver resolves the issue? If yes, we suggest that you disable it and see if your device go into Sleep mode after a period of inactivity.
