Windows 10: KB4530684 Windows Update changed my computer

On 12/10/19 Windows update KB4530684 completely messed up my desktop computer. And it says I can'g recover because it's been more than ten days. Files all dumped into One Drive, applications are messed up or missing, commands aren't followed...I don't want this update, I want Windows ten the way it was. i am 69 yrs old and not up on all the current stuff, but need my connectons to pay rent, bills, etc. Help!

Windows 10 update fails. (KB4530684)

Hello, I have had this failure now for about a month, I am unable to install 2019-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4530684). It gives me the pending restart status and I restart, it goes to start back up, and says
"Undoing changes" and restarts again. I have tried to use the update catalog to manually install it, and it says it is not compatable. I need a list of a lot of different things to do, as I have deleted everything in update cache and what not.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:

• New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
• CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
• Package change to Halide free package

Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.
