Windows 10: KB4557957 won't install. Stuck at 74%

It's not the first attempt. Every time it gets stuck at 73...75% ("Status: Installing - 74%") as if it waits for something. Is there any way to find out what exactly prevents it from proceeding?

Windows 10 installation stuck at 74%

Im facing same issue .

My laptop came preinstalled win 10.

Its been updated many times but now during recent update it stuck at 74% .

Screen says -> configuring update for win 10 , 74% complete , do not turn off your computer( blue background with ring animation working).

It is stuck at 74% for nearly 24 hours, and i dont want to take a risk of restart coz i don't have any recovery.

Sometimes i really wonder why Microsoft's update system is worse in this whole world , even if they got one of the best os.

 

Windows Update stuck at 74%

I'll try your suggestions later. There's no error code being displayed. The progress bar on the Windows Update screen is just stuck on 74%. At the top it says 'Windows update available' & when I click on 'Details' it says 'Waiting for download'.

Since having the latop a week ago, the only changes I have made is to install itunes & Microsoft Office. I don't know how long the update has been stuck as yesterday ws the first time I looked at the System Updates screen. Thanks
