    Hi,

    For the last few days, I am getting this message:


    KB4562899 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 2004

    Failed to install on ‎8/‎3/‎2020 - 0x8024001e


    When I tried to install by going to update setting, I get this:


    We could not complete the install because an update service was shutting down.


    How do I resolve this?

    What's up with this update? It appears that Microsoft is installing this "Preview" update without the option to decline. As a general rule, I don't install "Preview" updates. From my experiences with Windows 7, preview updates can can cause problems.

    Apparently, I can't stop this update.

    The keyword "Preview" indicates that the update hasn't been fully tested and certified safe and reliable.
