I have installed K4586876 endless times now, apparently successfully, and everytime my AVG Updater tells me I have to install it again. This is Windows update: 2020-11 Cumulative Update preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 version 2004 for x64 KB4586876... at what point will it actually stop needing to be installed? Release date 30/11/20.

Is this a problem, or what? Help much appreciated.

    :)

Latest Update Messed Up My New Computer! [2020-KB4586876]

Possibly my fault? I note in the Prerequisites and Restarts Requirements section they note: "We recommend that you exit all .NET Framework-based applications before you apply this update."

After playing some games I decided to check for any new updates and close down. It downloaded automatically and installed, then I restarted and when it came back on at the login screen with the nice picture the mouse cursor was flashing on and off the little circle indicating it was still processing something. So I waited a short while and it didn't stop so I logged in and to my horror the desktop was flashing on and off. I tried entering task manager and then it was flying all over the screen multiplying, like the cards when you finishing playing a game of Solitaire?

All I could do at that point was hold the power button down to shut it off, waited 30 seconds and turned it back and on then it was fine after that. Still running like a dream. Says in the history the update was applied..

Did I do something wrong there? Maybe better to just leave it to search and apply updates automatically (like I did with my Lenovo for the past 4 years and not one single issues there) or restart, then check for updates?
