Windows 10: KB4592438 install problem

    KB4592438 install problem


    After KB4592438 install, all icons prior to install were gone, along with installs associated with the icons. I reinstalled programs that were missing and used the programs as usual with no problems. Shut down for the night, booted up in the morning, and found the same problem, everything missing. Repeated the same procedure as previous day. Everything worked after reinstall of programs. Shut down, booted up next morning. Same result. What's up with this?

    Can't install kb4592438, always stuck at 96% and reverts itself.

    KB4592438 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.685 and v20H2 19042.685

    If you have a look at that thread (the News section has a useful thread per update per build) you will see user experiences following. Several suggest that an in-place upgrade repair install fixes problems applying it. E.g. these posts:

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
