    KB5000842 keeps failing with error code 0x8007000d


    I'm on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 19042.868 and for the last couple of days, I've seen KB5000842 available for download and install but it keeps failing as seen below I've tried running the Windows Update troubleshooter as well as sfc /scannow to no avail. Anyone else seen this and found out how to fix it?

    KB5000842 keeps failing with error code 0x8007000d

    Was it written somewhere?

    The update fixes the 0x800f081f error that existed in the Insider Channel.

    It does not fix error 0x8007000d or, as with them, 0x800f0984.

    The error code 0x8007000d means "Invalid data".
    I could look at the Windows Update log files to find out where the problem is and then fix manually, or you can perform an in-place upgrade directly.
    If you want me to look at the logs, you need to provide me with the log files.
