Windows 10: KB5001391 pending restart

Hi,I have selected to install KB5001391 in the optional updates section of Windows Update.After it have been downloaded and installed, Windows asks me the usual pending restart thing.The issue with the restart is, that I have restarted a lot of times already and every time asks again to restart for the same update, like it have been trapped in an infinite loop.Below a screenshot of the Windows Update dialog and version info.Can anyone help to finish installing this update or delete it? Also, I have noticed that in Settings, the search function does not work anymore after this issue.

Yes, that turns off flighting whatever that means. *Smile How do I remove the update that is pending restart? I used the windows 10 update troubleshooter and it seems to have done something. I reboot the machine, and there is still the update pending restart. I run the update troubleshooter again and it finds nothing to fix. I looked at installed updates under add/remove programs, view installed updated radio button and could not find it. I will feel much better getting rid of the pending restart and the slow ring preview build altogether. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your patient help and analysis, zbook. I'll step through some of your suggestions over the next few days - there's a lot to do and some look a bit hairy! That is, for a PC that is working sweetly right now...
