Windows 10: Keeping keyboard backlight permanently on

I have a two year old Asus Vivobook and am trying to find how to keep the backlit to set the keyboard keys permanently on as they stay on for so long then suddenly shut off. Have tried resetting it in the registry but there is no ATK settings under Asus see pic. I have looked in the main Windows settings but can find nothing in there either. Any ideas on this irritating problem please?

• lacrumb is correct, keyboard backlighting is controlled by utilities put on your computer by the computer maker.
• Keyboard backlighting only appears in Windows mobility centre if the computer maker has put it there.

I suggest

• Checking through your Start menu looking for a computer maker's utility,
• Reading the computer manual,
• Searching the computer maker's website
• Searching any user forums for your computer model
• Installing all hardware updates & BIOS updates provided on the computer maker's website

my keyboard backlight stopped. How do I turn it back on? When I go to control panel, it isn't even listed...?

This may have something to do with the driver for the device. We'd like to know some things so we can guide you better in resolving the issue. Please answer the following questions:

• Was the backlight previously working?
• Did the feature stop functioning after applying changes on the computer?
• Have you tried connecting the device to another computer?

We can gather more information about the cause of the problem by running some troubleshooters available in Control Panel. To do so, follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type Troubleshooting then press Enter.
• On the left panel, click on View all.
• Choose Keyboard and allow the troubleshooter to run.
• Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter as well.

The suggested troubleshooters will automatically correct the issues they find on your computer.

It will also be helpful if you can connect the keyboard to another computer to determine if the problem is specific to the device where the keyboard is currently connected. Connecting the keyboard to another computer will let us know if the backlight is
defective.
