    Kernel 41 Power Crashes

    Hi all,

Thank you in advance for any helpful thoughts or advice that you may offer… Kernel 41 Power Crashes :)

I have an aging system that needs assistance, so feel free to laugh at me for not replacing the whole thing… I bulit it nine years ago and I’ve certainly got my money’s worth out of it!

It has been crashing randomly for about the last month, generating the aforementioned Kernel 41 error log. It doesn’t often crash right away, but usually after the computer has been on for a while, and often in a warmer room. It then will often start crashing repeatedly, often times not even getting to the MB screen before it cycles off and on again. If I let it rest for about a half an hour, it can sometimes come back to life for a while.

Here’s what I have done to troubleshoot, thus far:

I had Windows 7 running when the issue began. I replaced the HD with an SSD and did a clean Windows 10 install, in the effort to offset any HD failure. I still have the old disk drive connected, just in case I need a W7 boot. I did notice upon start up, that three of my drives all occupy IRQ 10, which I thought was a little curious.

I removed half of my 6 memory sticks, thinking I might have a memory failure, but Windows memory diagnostics shows no error with memory.

I suspect a failing PSU, but I have no knowledge or means to do a proper diagnostics on it, and I can’t afford to plunk down cash to replace it, until I feel more certain that this is the problem.

So, any thoughts as to what else I might try before I start replacing more components?

I would certainly value any input you might have to offer…

    Thank you!

    Kelly

    :)

  2. Kernel-Power event id 41. BugcheckCode 0

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
    2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
    3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
    Power Event ID 41
and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows

    and check if that helps.

    Windows 10 - Critical issue - Kernel Power 41

I had the same crash/error message (kernel power 41)

I have followed the suggestions and here is the link on OneDrive for my dmp and msinfo32 files:

Hope this can help tell me why the crash has started to suddenly occur over the last few days.

    Thank you!

    Kernel 41 Power Crashes

Power Kernel 41 Error, During Gaming, Possibly Software?

@storm shadow, I already explained that in post 7
    There are 3 different crashes

    1. A freeze crash
    2. A sudden shutdown/restart crash
    3. A bluescreen crash

A memory dump will only be created when a bluescreen crash occurs.
A kernel event id 41 only means an unexpected power problem has occured what happens with both a shutdown/restart and bluescreen crashes.
