Please update your audio drivers, network drivers.
Please remove all the ASUS software, there are some old drivers on your system from ASUS software which are known for causing bluescreens.

I am using the latest drivers for the audio and network equipment as downloaded from Asus's site for this laptop.

I am not sure how good of an idea it might be to install the drivers for the Network and Sound Card from Realtek's site (or the other manufacturers of this stuff on the laptop...)

Also if I remove the Asus software completely (i.e. the touchpad), where can I get the latest drivers for this compatible with Windows 10?

You should get all drivers only from ASUS, this answers your question and:

I double checked over the last few days to make sure I am using the latest Asus drivers for various hardware. This includes:
    - touchpad
    - ethernet port
    - SD card reader
    - wireless adapter
    - audio driver + software
    (this list doesn't include everything)

(note I Did download some drivers from the manufacturers' sites that made the hardware, but I did not install these as 1) you suggested not to and 2) the version of the driver that is installed is the same as the one I downloaded)

For the integrated graphics card, I downloaded the driver from Intel a while back

And for the Nvidia graphics card, I also downloaded a back-dated driver from Nvidia a few days ago
( so far, no BSOD's on boot using this older driver................this is leading me to believe that the newer driver and/or Nvidia software was likely causing the issues)

If I uninstall all Asus software and keep them uninstalled, some things will stop working properly, such as the keyboard backlight and the keystrokes to change volume (etc.)

I'll keep using the computer as normal over the next week or so to see if I get any more BSOD's.

What ASUS software is required for those features?

This is the list of software which is needed:
    - ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities (keyboard backlight + keystrokes for volume and all)
    - ASUS smart gesture (this is mostly for preventative purposes, because otherwise Windows pulls in the incorrect driver and software, and if this happens the touchpad cannot be disabled with the keyboard combination)

These are non-Asus but I downloaded from their site + have them installed:
    - Realtek Audio Driver
    - Realtek Media Card Reader
    - Ralink Bluetooth driver

I am willing to permanently remove:
    - ASUS USB Charger Plus
(as I don't use this that much)

I have some stability suspicious about the hotkey software, but the touchpad is fine *Smile

Kernel security check failure BSOD (intermittent -ish)

I've marked this problem as solved as it's almost been a week since the last BSOD crash (both on boot and while using photoshop).

Based on what I have read and how my computer was behaving, and advice given by axe0, I am quite sure that the problem was the Nvidia graphics driver.

The driver version I had installed was 361.43, however I suspected this to be causing the crashes, so I downgraded the driver to version 359.06. I also uninstalled ALL NVidia-related software when i took out the newer driver, includng Nvidia PhysX software and NVidia GeForce experience (both which I never used).

(for those interested, the site to get older drivers is here: Advanced Driver Search | NVIDIA)

I will continue to monitor this problem, but I believe it is solved for now...

    Thanks to all who helped!
