Windows 10: KESU USB 3.0 1TB external harddrive

Hello,


I used to be able to see my hard drive on my laptop, but now I can no longer see it. I followed the instruction below, after first disabling it, and re-enabling it. I have shut down and restarted my machine multiple time, I checked for an updated device driver and my driver is up to date. I found other suggestions regarding messing with the bios, but I am not computer savy enough to mess with that.

I have attached screen shots of the device manager as well as the file explorer so you can see that the device is not visible there, I also clicked on show hidden devices, just in case it was hidden.


Please help, I have 1000s of pictures on my hard drive.

Kesu USB 3.0 SCSI 500GB external hard drive

Recently bought a Kesu USB 3.0 SCSI 500GB external hard drive. My problem is that it shows under the disk drives in the device manager, but not in the file explorer. I am running windows 10. How can I correct this problem. Thank you for your cooperation.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing with detecting external hard drive via USB 3.0 port, this issue might have occurred due to corrupted or out dated port drivers.

I suggest you to try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check.

Method 1: Run Hardware troubleshooter as it will help in resolving the issues with hardware and resolve any simple issues found.

• 
  Write Troubleshooting
  in the search box and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting
  tab.
  
• 
  Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
  
• 
  Select the Hardware and Device
  options from the list.
  
• 
  Click Next to run the
  Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the USB driver for the computer and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows and X together and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Locate the Universal Serial Bus Controller and expand the driver icon.
  
• 
  Right Click on all the USB driver icon and select
  Uninstall.
  

Restart the computer. After restarting the computer, USB driver will automatically be installed.
