Windows 10: key issue ESC key keeps opening basic windows mail client/if uninstalled it opens empty...

heya, I'm going mad over this one.


Here is what happens:


in a slightly unpredictable sequence pressing nothing but the esc key from short tap to holding for a few seconds it will launch the windows mail client.

If the windows mail client is not present it will ask to open a not named file and which program to use for it. Assigning chrome opens an empty tab, assigning editor opens url.dll of the system 32 folder. Once chrome was assigned only uninstalling chrome made the choice option appear again with a mention that .dll is beeing attempted to open.

With chrome installed I can just mash away at the esc key and eventually kill the system from ram overload from 600 chrome tabs exaggeration have not tested when it would give up and sudoku


Things already done:


remove any possible program + multiple full virus scans with various software stripping the computer to almost naked with no success or find.

Reset Windows

Check for associated Program for mail/.dll uninstalling chrome and mail makes the ESC key ask what to open a .dll with, editor names said file as url.dll

reset/uninstall language pack/keyboard/keyboarddriver/remove keyboard and replug

Plug keyboard to different usb port

use different keyboard destroy old keyboard and buy new one included

disable cortana

disable windows shortcuts

check for drivers but it suggests windows default Hama uRage Exodus²

disable sticky keys, turn off any possible sticky keys option

reinstall mailclient and unsuccessfully check it's settings for possible hotkeys

yell at the machine

use not nice language about anyone who could have possibly ever even thought about making this system

consider but not yet go for ubuntu.

Keys issue. B opens Groove music, Esc & ] opens Mail????

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• Since when are you facing this issue?
• Did you make any changes in prior to this issue?

This issue that you are facing can be due to your keyboard driver. I would suggest that you check your driver, if it is updated. If not you can visit your manufactures website and download it manually.

You can follow the steps mentioned below to check the details of the drivers.

• Click on “Start” button located on your computer screen.
• Type “Device Manager”, a window will open and in the navigation pane search for “Keyboard”, then right click to check the detail regarding the driver.

The next step is to Go to your Laptop/Computer Manufacturer's website > Drivers and Downloads Section > Key in your Model number > Look for latest Windows 10 Drivers for it > Download/install
them.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
