Windows 10: Keyboard and language settings

Hi,


I am using Windows 10 1803 with the locale set to English-Ireland and a German keyboard. The system was set up using the UK keyboard. After selecting the German keyboard as the default input method (which does fortunately no longer change the system language to German) most websites try to load a German version or offer translation which is totally unnerving. At no other place in the system German is configured as the working language and even Chrome and Edge are set to English only. How can I change this behavior?


Why does changing the keyboard to any other language while leaving the system locale unchanged have such an impact on the system? Why is Microsoft assuming that everyone using a German keyboard would also need websites translated to German?


Then without changing anything it would switch back to the UK keyboard without notice...


Sorry Microsoft, these things already used to work fine, Why the change??

The extra keyboard layout keep adding to my language bar (with Pics)

The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
• Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
• Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.

Unable to set keyboard language as default differently from Windows 10 language

You can configure your keyboard language by adding it on the default language set on the system. For instructions, follow these steps:

• Open Settings.
• Open Time & language.
• Select Region & language.
• Click on the default language, and click Options.
• Select Add a keyboard, and select the language that you want to add.

You can try these steps to set up your preferred defaults:

• Go to Settings and click Time & Language.
• Click Region & Language.
• Click on your default system language then, click Options.
• Click Add a keyboard then choose your preferred keyboard language.
• Remove the other keyboard language by choosing it then click Remove.
