  1. Keyboard Issue

    Hi all.

I have an issue with my keyboard settings and I am hoping someone else may know how to fix as I have tried everything and cannot resolve this issue.

So basically since about 3-4 weeks ago when I press the "forward slash" key one that shared with ? the key does nothing BUT if I hold shift and press it it produces a ?.

I thought maybe the keyboard was to blame but I have connected 3 separate makes of keyboard and they are all doing the same. It even happens when using the onscreen keyboard as well.

So far I have tried the following

    • Took my keyboard to another PC and tested and the key works fine
    • Replicated the keyboard and language settings from the PC that works but doesn't sort the issue
    • removed all keyboard software and uninstalled all keyboard devices from device manager which did not resolve the issue.
    • Tried using an online keyboard checker and when the key is pressed it registers the keystroke

The really strange thing with all of this is that I CAN type a forward slash in the password box at windows login screen??? but soon as I am past this stage it no longer works. I have tried typing in office, edge, notepad it doesn't seem to make a difference.

at this stage I am out of ideas... I am sure its just a setting in windows that's gone weird but cannot lock down which one it could be... any ideas?

    Regards.

    :)
