Windows 10: Keyboard keys E and W do not work

Hello,


The keys on my laptop 'e' and 'w' do not work. I have tried removing the keys and cleaning underneath them, still doesn't work. I have updated all the updates due on my laptop, restarted my laptop. I have ran a security check - no viruses. Any ideas on how I can get these keys to work again?

It is only these keys that do not work.

I have a ACER laptop - Aspire E 15.

Keyboard Volume Keys not working while in-game

I happen to have used the Tt Challenger Pro keyboard in the past, and the volume keys worked flawlessly in every game, so it's indeed a weird problem. I would suggest the same thing sneekypeet suggested, using the keyboard software and assign this function to a hotkey, but you said that didn't work either, so yeah...

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)

  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

Certain keys not working on keyboard(Windows 10)

That's almost the same as my problem!! Did this happen to you after downloading the Anniversary Update?? What other solutions did u try? Did u try System Restore and/or updating the keyboard drivers?? Someone had also suggested on another forum to rollback the latest keyboard driver and then to check if the keys are working (I haven't tried this yet). So maybe u could try these in the meantime n c which option works for u...
