Windows 10: Keyboard not working properly after installing windows 10?

Heres an image of the keys affected and the codes they're giving off.
Too me it appears as though the laptop believes it has a full key board with the number pad.

I will give my best to translate the important parts properly (sadly I don't know the correct english translation for the German Windows 10 expressions) :

DirkGrave found out that the reason for the keyboard bug seems to be the driver for the Synaptics Touchpad.... strange as it sound... He deactivated it and his keyboard worked properly:

1. Settings at the Windows 10 Startmenu
2. "Geräte" in german... the part where you can set Bluetooth, printer or mouse
3. under "Mouse and Touchpad" extended settings
4. Here he deactivated the Synaptic Touchpad and his keyboard worked properly again.




I can confirm that after deactivating the touchpad my keyboard worked again, even so Windows installed a Lenovo driver at my notebook.

Worked for me too, i then uninstalled the Synaptic Touchpad and installed the touchpaddriver Synaptics Pointing Device Driver Release Notes Version 16.2.12.12 September 05, 2012 from Medion Downloads | MEDION Nordic A/S ..........and now i have the right keyboard and a Full working touchpad.

 

I had the very same problem after installing Windows 10 on my son's Toshiba Satellite L7750-S7340 Laptop. The top row of number keys (1 - 4) didn't work, and my space bar would only work if I pressed it with the "FN" key. There may have been other problems, but I was focused on just the two previously described.

I did all the usual trouble shooting things with no luck, although I noticed something wierd in device manager and returned to it after exhausting all the tips found on boards. I had noticed that my keyboard was listed as Lenovo and it had mouse drivers too; showing the mouse was Lenovo, as well.

I have been using a Microsoft wireless mouse (with USB dongle) and my keyboard was always Toshiba. So I removed the Lenovo Keyboard (and drivers) and the Lenovo mouse (and drivers) from my system. I rebooted and upon start-up everything was running normally again. Try this and see if it works for you. GOOD LUCK!

hello everyone. today i upgraded windows 8 to windows 10 on my turbo x laptop, and since then the keyboard is not working at all, although the num lock looks like it's on! i tried everything i read on forums but still nothing! i am using os 64bit. any ideas how to enable it again?

Yes! This is a solution I can use!
Rigth click at the Windows Icon, Select "Device Manager" (Enhedhåndtering in Danish)
Select and expand "Mouse and pointing Devices"
Right click at "Lenovo Pointing Device" and select remove.
Restart Your PC, and the Keybord work correct now. (And if You look at the Lenovo Pointing it is active again, it seems to be a conflict that happend due to the sequence the are loadet in)

 

So does the Windows key plus the spacebar fix the problem of the cursor jumping in a sentence or paragraph around when typing? Here's an example of how aggravating it is: "noying This is an extremly an especially when spacing."

 

After installing windows 10, windows start to download and install update . I see
Synaptics pointing Device driver version 19.0.9.5 conflicts with my laptop Toshiba Satellite L775D-S7226 .
Problem is after updating (installing) some number keys did not work such as 1,2,3,4 and spacebar.

So I enter control panel, choose Uninstall program and click Synaptics pointing Device driver to uninstall it.
After that my keyboard get back to normal.

I get in Toshiba webstite and download touchpad driver (Synaptic pointing Device driver version 15.2.11.1) for my laptop, I installed it and see the laptop works normally. I think it is OK. But
Windows update continue reinstall that update again and again. So I continue to search online and find some solution for my laptop:


There are 3 options:


1/

2/- Download package from Microsoft.
That is "Download the "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter package" from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...source=twitter.
After this solution, my laptop still downloading that stubborn driver. So I make a next step.

3/Get back to website Toshiba support, enter Model number of laptop, I click on windows 10-64bit and found a Synaptics pointing device driver (version 19.0.12.5) newer than the one windows update
installed into my laptop (version 19.0.9.5 ). Download and install it. Restart. Try to check windows update (setting>Update and Security) and do not see that stubborn update appears again.
My keyboard get back to normal. The solution resolved.

Thanks...I owe you one!
I had upgraded my Tosh C670D laptop and after marathon install went to bed quite happy.
Next morning, same keyboard problem as you.
Keys 1 2 3 4 and space bar not working.

Looked everywhere and tried different options...no joy!

After seeing your advice, I did this:-

Rolled back Lenovo mouse and drivers...so went back to 'PS/2 compatible mouse'.
However, after a restart the Lenovo mouse driver was back!

So I changed the Windows 10 settings to stop the OS installing better drivers automatically.

All is now well and my keyboard is functioning 100%.
