Windows 10: Keyboard numberpad issue

Hi Microsoft, I have just had to discard my very useful media pro usb keyboard which was in perfect working order because the number pad keys were no working properly. If they were pressed they caused issues with whatever I had been working on and I got so frustrated at it I threw it out and bought a cheap replacement, an Advent wireless model,which is fine...but, the problem still exists. This has been going on for around three months at least and I have tried other keyboards with the same result. It is obviously a driver issue probably caused by one of your recent updates. This should not happen - I have previously used 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 with no problems at all until, as I pointed out earlier this year. I am using an i5 processor on a Gigabyte GA-Z87 - HD /8g ram. Another problem I have only recently experienced is when using midi equipment - M-Audio 24/96 soundcard/2x2 interface/Studiologic keyboard, the M-Audio drivers seem to have conflicted with Win10 and it kept having a restart problem. It would try to boot then stop after 3 seconds, after maybe 10 minutes try again and same problem. I finally gave up and restored win10 and started fresh making sure that the m-audio drivers were not installed. What a pain....

I would like to re-install win7 to use this gear and I have a registered copy with Microsoft.

I have lost the product key for this and would like to retrieve it if possible.

To assist you better, please provide us the below information:

• Have you made any changes in the system settings?

I suggest you to perform the below steps and check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Then type "Ease of Access Center" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Click on Make the mouse easier to use.

4. Then uncheck mark on Turn on Mouse keys.

5. Click on Apply and click on Ok.

6. Check if you are able to use the numberpad keys.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method: 1

I suggest you to run hardware & devices troubleshooter.

• 
  Press “Windows key + X” and type “troubleshooting”.
  
• 
  Select “Troubleshooting”.
  
• 
  Select “View all” on the top left corner.
  
• 
  Click “Hardware & Sound”.
  
• 
  Click “Hardware & devices”.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter
  

Method: 2

Uninstall and Reinstall the Keyboard Drivers.

Step 1: Uninstall the Keyboard Drivers

1. Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.

2. Click on “Device Manager” from that list.

3. Search for the Keyboard from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the
driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers from the computer.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted.

After the restart, please go ahead with the next steps to install the latest drivers and check if that resolves the issue.

Update Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website:

Step 2: Go to the Computer manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows 10 drivers available for the Keyboard and then install it by following the instructions given in the website.

I suggest you to connect an external keyboard and check if the issue persists or not.
