Windows 10: Keyboard problem

My problem started a few weeks ago when i noticed i couldnt get a letter 'A' to type during an email.

All my other keys work normally as expected with upper and lower case using either 'caps lock' or shift.


1/ The low case 'a' will only type if CAP's is on followed by holding shift.


2/ An upper case 'A' will type with no CAP's lock and holding shift.


3/ A lower case 'a' will NOT type otherwise.


SO in order to type a letter 'a' during typing i have to toggle CAP's then hold shift, type the 'a' then toggle CAP's again to continue typing in lower case.


No other keys suffer this and as you can expect ... its pretty tedious.


Im using a 1 year old windows 10 machine with a genuine operating system and a brand new Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse combo.


This fault occured whilst i had an older logitec wireless set so I bought the new ones hoping it would fix the problem.


I have updated my drivers, i have trouble shot...! I have spent Ages searching the internet for the same problem..


The keyboard has been tried on another machine with no problem.


PLEASE HELP ME lol im going nuts...!!

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager from the list.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.

• Try a different keyboard (or an external USB keyboard in case of a laptop)
• See if the problem persists with the on-screen keyboard (osk.exe)

  Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?
  

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to the laptop to check if that helps.

Further you may also use the onscreen keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

• 
  Press Windows key + R to get the run window.
  
• 
  Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.
