Windows 10: Keyboard

I have a really strange problem!


I was doing my English final and was talking to a friend. My keyboard fell off my desk and a lot of the keys were pressed at the same time. I didn't think much of it and just restarted my computer because my mouse was acting funny. When I got back on I signed in and everything worked for a minute or so. Then my keyboard typed 5 random keys and stopped working. I thought my keyboard had gone because it was so old but when I plugged it into my laptop it completely worked just fine. There were no problems. I pugged it back into my desktop and it still didn't work. I restarted my computer and the same thing happed. My keyboard worked for a minute or so, long enough I could log in, but then it stops working again. I did this about three more time, logging into my computer and having my computers keyboard do the same thing.


I am completely baffled by this and I was hoping I activated some weird widows prosses. I have been looking for about an hour now trying to fix it but no luck. Like I said the keyboard is fine and it doesn't happen in any other computer in the house just this one.


You guys have any ideas?

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager from the list.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.

To address your concern, we suggest that you try the following steps:

• Click Start and then click Settings
• Click on Ease of access
• Click Keyboard in the left pane
• Turn off Filter Keys in the right pane

Also, try pressing the Fn+ Num Lock keys to turn off the Number lock function.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)

  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
