Windows 10: Keys repeating in Windows 11

Hi,recently I have started to experience keyboard issues on my laptop 2022 Asus G14. Whenever entering a new window, text field, navigating within a text field, or alt+tabbing, my keyboard acts as though there is sticky keys turned on for almost every key I have checked sticky-keys in settings, it is not on. If the first key that is pressed is not ctrl, shift, fn, alt, the key will rapidly repeat until another key is pressed, if he first pressed key IS one of those, the keypress will simply not register. This has become very annoying with the delete, backspace, space, and return keys. The

Windows 7 repeating keys uncontrollably

As the title states my desktop has recently taken to repeating the 9 key uncontrollably for no apparent reason and I cannot find any definitive reason why?? I need some form of help desperately!

A few things about my system:

-I do not have a spare keyboard sadly or anyone who I could borrow one from in a convenient timeframe.
-I have a wireless keyboard but even when the batteries are out and the receiver is disconnected the key still repeats.
-I have tried removing both 9 keys and found nothing wrong to indicate a problem
-I have also tried chucking my keyboard at the floor to no avail (cheap keyboard want a new one anyway)
-Would really prefer not to have to reinstall Windows
-I am using windows 7 Home Premium SP1

Repeating Keys don't repeat

Method 1: Run the
Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your mouse. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
  

Method 2.Try updating the latest keyboard devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the Keyboard drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

b. Expand the Keyboard driver.

c. Right-click on the HID Keyboard Device and click on Update driver software.

d. Restart the computer and check.

Keyboard repeat delay and repeat speed

Hi Joseph,

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard driver. Follow the steps to uninstall & reinstall the keyboard driver from device manager.

• 
  Press Windows key + X from the
  Keyboard and click on Device Manager.
  
• 
  In Device Manager, double click on the
  Keyboard.
  
• 
  It will show you the device driver name, select that device and then right click on it.
  
• 
  Click on Uninstall button.
  
• 
  Restart the computer, the drivers will get automatically installed on your Windows 10.
  
• 
  Repeat the same for Mice and other pointing devices.
