  1. Languages added randomly.

    Hi everyone,

For some reason I got two (!) languages added that I never had before, cannot see them in settings. Already made an IgnorePreloadKeyboardLayout key (as I had UK keyboard that appeared suddenly), it did help for some time, but now I encounter this again.

How can I get rid of two other English keyboards?

  2. US keyboard added randomly

The install, and system language, is in US English.

    Preferred language is "US English".

I can mention that I previously had "UK English" as install language and preferred language (previous Windows installs), and in those cases "US English keyboard" also randomly got added.

I'll try your suggestions, and give feedback on how it went.

The extra keyboard layout keep adding to my language bar (with Pics)

    Hi Panupong,

The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
    • Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
    • Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.

Let us know if the steps above resolved your issue.

    US keyboard added randomly

    Hi,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Could you please confirm if your system’s Windows 10 installation was in English or Native language?

I would suggest you to remove the ‘US English’ language pack completely and reinstall it and check if this issue still persists.

There are a few steps that you could follow to remove the language from your system.

    Please check the methods below:

    Method 1:

    1. Click on the start button, type in ‘cmd’ and right click to see the options. Select ‘Run as administrator’.
    2. Type the following command and hit Enter. Command: Lpksetup /u
    3. This will open the Install or Uninstall display languages panel.
    4. Select the language that you wish to uninstall, click on ‘Next’ and the Language Interface Pack will start uninstalling. You will then be asked to restart your computer.

Restart the system and check if this worked out for you. If not, please follow the ‘Method 2’.

    Method 2:

    1. Right click on Windows Start > Windows Powershell (Admin).
    2. Copy and paste the following command in Powershell and press enter. Command: Get-WinUserLanguageList
    3. You will get the languages which are installed. Make a note of language tag of the language which you want to retain. Let's say that this language tag is en-GB.
    4. Copy and paste the following command in Powershell and press enter. Command: Set-WinUserLanguageList en-GB
    5. This will remove the other languages from your system.

Note: To add a language pack again, you can do that by navigating to Start>Settings> Time & language > Region & language.

Select ‘Add a language’, search for the ‘US English’ language and click on ‘Next’, this will add the language to your system. In options under ‘English (United States)’ if the ‘Keyboard’ is added automatically, please remove it
and check by rebooting your system.

    We await your reply.
