    Ooooohhh....
    There is a way.....
    First I use my HOSTS file, and then one of those browser extensions we are not allowed to talk about, and ONLY turn on the malware protection section in the filter list:
    From Edge's:

    Windows 10 is clean installed and I'm hunting down stuff to keep her safe now. *Smile

    Which brings up another question:

    I know about Unchecky and Ccleaner (not sure she could handle that one; may be dangerous) and a few others, but would appreciate suggestions for safety measures.

    I would make room for a data partition and save a system image of the clean machine to it (using your preferred imaging software). This is effectively your personal 'factory reset' partition. Then the important step to hide it from prying eyes and/or idle curiosity - use Disk Management and remove it's drive letter!

    To the uninitiated it will be invisible, but it will save you a lot of time if/when the inevitable happens again *Smile
