Windows 10: Laptop almost completely unusable after Windows update

List of issues the new update caused on my computer:


Task manager has completely stopped working


Unable to open any folder that is withing a folder


Extreme lag I get 6 fps on a simple tetris game i made


Unable to close any tab, be it chrome or for example, Steam, with the X button in the corner of the screen


Microsoft Teams have stopped working And probably more but i cant launch them because of the other issues


If a pop-up window, for example an malwarebytes update notice, opens, it gets stuck and cannot be removed unless the laptop is restarted




And more which for the sake of my own hands i won't list here


I first noticed the issues after i woke up and tried to join my online class on Teams, which i have within a folder that is within a folder, so i couldn't open it, then when i tried to open it through the search bar, it loaded for at least 30m and didn't do anything, after that i ran a virus scan I used ESET but nothing came up, i then backed up everything important and tried to fix it with no luck


Any help will be appreciated

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

I will try that... do you think I have complete access to replace the monitor cable without dismantling the laptop from step 1? *Eek!
Tbh it's a bit scary.

We have to make sure that the Windows Update is installed properly on your laptop. To check if it is installed already, please follow these steps:

• Press the Win + I buttons.
• Select Update & Security.
• Click View installed update history. The latest update should have been installed and dated last week.

If your laptop does not have the latest update yet, you can manually get the update by following the above steps 1 and 2, then select
Check update.

In case that your laptop has already the latest Windows Update installed, please follow the troubleshooting steps on this

link.
