  1. Laptop battery not charging, BIOS says AC adapter not installed

My laptop no longer recognizes the AC adapter and doesn't hold a charge anymore. When I went to the BIOS, it told me that there wasn't an ac adapter installed.

I've already replaced the harness jack and had to buy a new battery because the other one was completely drained. I've already tried the whole "Unintall the thing in Device Manager" but that didn't work.

This happened after I moved my hardware from one shell to another but I can't think of anything that went wrong. Depending on where I look, some say you don't need to install anything to get the adapter to work while others say the only driver has been the same for years. I have no idea what to do.

    :)

Laptop battery not charging, BIOS says AC adapter not installed

Laptop no longer charging since Windows 10 update

Thanks for the response, but the issue is not the battery or the laptop. It was charging and working fine prior to this most recent Windows 10 update.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to say. When the charger is plugged in, it just says "plugged in", but my battery has been at 2% for the past several hours. Obviously the charger is doing something since it's holding the 2% power, but it's not charging. There has to be some day to bypass whatever this update broke.
