Windows 10: laptop battery wont charge after latest update

there was a mandatory update that came out a few days ago but i only installed it today. everything was fine and i left my laptop. when i came back to it in the evening i noticed that the battery keeps going down even though it's plugged in. it went down from 100% to 50% in about 45 minutes,after that i turned it off to save what's left. it's the weekend here and the comp technician wont be able to come until monday so i thought i would ask here if there is anything i could try. thank you

cheers mate, ive just treid that , my battery was fully charged so will see what happens when its down to around 9% and i plug in the charger...odd thing is i noted the driver for this application to be dated 20-06-2013, after deleting/unistalling it reinsatlled drivers dated 21-06-2006...tried to update but says i have latest installed...will wait to see what happens..ta


ok update, tried what was suggested but didnt work...still shows same message when plugged in to charge battery..

What is the make and model of the laptop?

I suggest you to un-install and re-install battery drivers from Device manager and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Expand Batteries and right click on Batteries ACPI and click on Un-install.
• Restart the computer and check.

Laptop battery not charging


This is yet another issue I am experiencing after the 1809 fall update, nothing else in my system has been changed other than the installation of the 1809 fall update, so I am confident it's at the root of the problem.

Let me first state I never use my battery, ever, and it always stays at 100% full charge, but after the 1809 update the battery's charge has slowly been depleting (currently 93%) and is "Not charging" and the battery indicator light stays illuminated 24/7 even when the laptop is off, this was never the case before the 1809 update.

Anyone have a remedy or a fix for this issue? Thanks.
